Creating MAGIC
MAGIC is managed by a committee of volunteer professionals dedicated to making the art of dance available to the widest audience. The heart and soul of the company is our Artistic Director, Denise Gillman, who pours her years of international performance experience into each member of the company.
Full Length Productions: Twice a year, the company focuses on developing, refining and performing a full length production. As one of our young dancers states, “It’s not just about the costumes”. MAGIC annually performs the holiday tradition of The Nutcracker.
This will be the fourth local production of The Nutcracker produced and choreographed by Artistic Director, Denise Gillman. Each spring will bring about a different production to entertain audiences.
Community Events: Opportunities abound for smaller groups of the company to present their skills. Events such as Light Up Louisville, Light Up LaGrange, Iroquois Amphitheater productions, corporate holiday parties and Kentucky Derby festivities provide a stage for our company. Snippets of past, current and future productions are showcased in these intimate settings.
Community Outreach: Supporting the growth of dance is at the core of our vision. This is accomplished through community outreach programs. From performances at senior care centers to working with local schools, our troupe seeks opportunities to present dance to those who may not have the occasion to experience this magical expression of art.
